Yeovil Town Women FC are delighted to announce the appointment of Grant Kalahar to Jamie Sherwood’s first team technical staff.
The UEFA ‘A’ Licence coach comes with vast coaching experience having held roles including Academy Manager, Head of Coaching, Specialist Development Coach and Football Development Officer, working at organisations including Cardiff City, Swansea City, Newport County AFC, Bristol Rovers and the FAW.
In the male game, Grant has extensive experience of working with players in the Foundation Phase, Youth Development Phase and Professional Development Phases as well as with professional players. He also has extensive experience in the female game working in FAW player development squads and as a technical consultant in the Women’s Super League 1.
Kalahar’s appointment marks the return to club action for the USW lecturer following a brief spell away.
Grant Kalahar commented on his excitement in joining the club, “Last October I decided to have a break from coaching for the first time in about 10 years. After getting fit again I made my mind up to only commit to something regular if I could work with people who share the same values as me, and Jamie and Ewan do that. When the opportunity to work with them at Yeovil came up joining was the simplest decision I’ve made in a long time.
I’d like to thank them both for the efforts that they went to in order to bring me in and I’ll pay them back with the commitment and quality that I’m known for on the training pitch and in the dug out. I’m looking forward to playing a part in the club’s plan to return to WSL and bringing through good young players and staff while we do so.”
Club owners, Adam Murry & Tony McCarthy, said” we are delighted to welcome Grant on board at YTWFC and looking forward to continue to grow stronger as a club as the season goes on .”
